Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings
Samsung's Family Hub fridge combines a 389-litre fridge and the freezer, which is 225 litres. It's a large American-style model that has high-quality temperature control and a dazzling array of intelligent features.
You can make it your own with removable panels to make it fit with your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.
All Round Cooling
In refrigerators that have All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits can help keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, a single cooling evaporator cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This often means that the low humidity air from your freezer is circulated into your fridge and it could cause your food items to dry out. This can cause them to taste bland and unpleasant.
Each shelf level is fitted with multiple vents that circulate cool air. This helps to maintain an even temperature even when you open and close the refrigerator door.
Optimal Fresh Zone keeps fish and meats fresher for as long as twice as long as in conventional refrigerators, without freezing them. This feature is a game-changer for those who love cooking but doesn't like the hassle of thawing frozen meat or fish.
All Round Cooling employs a metal cooling plate in the back of the fridge to retain the cold air and prevent it from escaping when you open the door of the fridge. It also reduces the requirement for power defrosting, saving you time and money.
The ice dispenser that comes with Samsung fridges is one of the best we've ever tested. The original Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes can be dispensed by a simple twist and can be stored beneath the fridge when not in use. This gives you more shelf space, and makes it easier to find your favorite snacks and drinks.
You can select which way your freezer and fridge are opened by using reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge into the kitchen layout and keep your fridge clean and tidy.
Samsung's Family Hub is the central control for your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen that is mounted on your refrigerator. samsung fridges online will show live video feeds from your smart doorbell, make orders for groceries in accordance with an automated inventory, or suggest recipes that make use of the items you have on hand.
Samsung refrigerators come with flexible drawers on the bottom, which are an intelligent storage solution. They make it easy to store taller items, like pizza trays or cans of drinks. They can be turned over when not in use, and folded flat to free up space. This is a fantastic feature for those who are passionate about cooking and baking and have a limited refrigerator storage space.

FlexZone
The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer has a unique three-zone system that lets you add an additional refrigerator compartment or freezer drawer to the set-up. This flexibility allows you to personalize your fridge freezer to meet your storage and needs requirements. The FlexZone module allows you to upgrade your fridge to a larger or smaller size by incorporating an extra FlexZone.
The refrigerator is elegant in its design that will complement any kitchen design. The stainless-steel finish is long-lasting and sleek. It also comes with an anti-fingerprint finish to keep the surface looking new. The refrigerator also has an external water and ice dispenser to make it even more convenient.
This fridge has an FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted from freezer to refrigerator. This allows you to have more freezer space for items like ice cream bags of frozen veggies and even fish or meat. It did well in our tests too, but the lack of a voice control or SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen was an unrealized opportunity.
The rest of the fridge has plenty of space to store food, including two crisper trays and a middle FlexZone drawer that can be customized. This drawer lets you pick between five different settings based on your requirements for the fridge-freezer compartment. There are five different settings available: A freezer setting, a soft freeze setting for wine trays, or the deli tray, for instance. a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store drinks, snacks and other items that are frequently used.
This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is perfect for families that want to have a fridge and freezer in one unit. It's a little less spacious than the top-of-the-line French door models, however it has plenty of useful features and is an excellent option for those with limited space in their kitchens.
The Samsung Fridge Freezer is also a very energy efficient fridge, thanks to its digital inverter technology. This technology regulates temperatures in the fridge to ensure that it doesn't change too frequently and keeps food fresher longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it the ENERGY STAR Certification.
SmartThings
SmartThings isn't quite the platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer numerous smart devices you can add. It's also built into Samsung smartphones, tablets and TVs - plus some fridges. It could be enough for some, especially if they have several Samsung products.
The SmartThings App is well-rounded, and polished, with an 'if x, then y" automation feature that is very effective. You can set up things such as an alarm going off when water leak sensors detect the presence of a flood, or turn on lighting when your phone detects you're at home. It can also control your refrigerator if you connect it to a smart socket however we've had mixed results with this.
You'll need a hub in order to use SmartThings, which isn't inexpensive. Samsung offers a range of different options which include the SmartThings Station that you can connect to the router and use as a nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee and Thread with support in the near future.
Once you've got your smart fridge connected to your smartphone, hub and fridge it's easy to use. SmartThings lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your phone when it is opened or closed. You can set up schedules, change the temperature and set reminders.
SmartThings was a founding member in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working on making major home appliances made by different manufacturers interoperable. This could mean that you'll be able to control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television with the same app in the near future.
SmartThings isn't as well-known as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does include some major names on its list, including Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, a protocol that allows accessories to pair regardless of their brand. For most people, however, merged Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best bet.
Family Hub
A fridge freezer doesn't get much more modern than this: it comes with a 21-inch touchscreen in the door, complete with a myriad of intelligent features. You can access entertainment apps, leave notes for family members (think the size of a notebook that's stuck to the fridge) Check the weather and more, all thanks to Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby.
The touchscreen lets you manage food and recipes. You can add ingredients directly from an app and see what's inside your fridge using internal cameras. You can also create an inventory list of items on the go and monitor foods to see when they'll expire. You can even download a dedicated recipe app that will provide instructions as you cook.
Samsung has spent the entire year working on the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. You can now create different profiles for each family member so that they can customize the information and apps that they can access. It's not as great as the Alexa integration into your fridge but it is an improvement over the model of last year.
Besides its features for entertainment and grocery management, Family Hub also acts as controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices like lights, plugs, and locks.
Samsung's fridge has been around for a while and, while it still has a lot of usefulness, the touchscreen smarts aren't an essential feature for many people. These are more of a fun and semi-frivolous addition than anything else.
This could change as more software updates are made available, but for now these models are ideally suited to those who want the most complete connected fridge that is possible. If you aren't one of them, you can choose a lower-cost model that doesn't have the Family Hub to save some cash. This could be worth it if you have a lot of smart home devices that need to be controlled via the same screen or if you simply love the idea of an appliance with a massive touchscreen.
